This one is about cookies...kinda

Remember when I told you guys that an old friend and I reconnected and I was super excited about it?

Well, we made plans on Saturday to have a cookout at my house. I went out and bought all of the hot dogs and hamburgers, chips, pasta salad, alcohol, pop and even made Fiance cut some fire wood. They were scheduled to arrive at 7:00 so at 5:00 I started baking cookies. Lots of cookies. Snickerdoodle, Macadamia Nut, Chocolate Chip and Peanut Butter.

By 6:00 I had a nice assorted tray of cookies.

At 6:10, she TEXTED and canceled.

Fiance and I ended up having our OWN cookout, which actually turned out to be quite nice. Piss on her. And we had tons of cookies that we just HAD to get rid of. Before they went bad. You know. The sacrifices!

Now for a relevant trivia question...

What is the number 1 selling commercial cookie in the USA?

First to answer gets to choose who will go on the Giggle Button this week!!

My guess is Oreo.

My guess is Mr Christie's chocolate chip!

You got it Danger Boy!! Email me the Giggle Button occupant!

@Amy-I don't think I've ever had a Mr Christie's chocolate chip. And ya, she totally sucks for bailing.

@Teresa-It was awesome! Her loss, right? :)

Can't believe she cancelled at such short notice, and after you had gone to all that trouble. Boo! Still, you and fiance obviously enjoyed eating it all up! Hee Hee! Sorry, I wouldn't have known the answers to the cookie question anyway!

Cancelling is sad, but sometimes people have a good reason. Cancelling at the last minute is inconsidate and that was not a nice thing to do.

But cancelling by texting is just childish and rude beyond words. I hate that, but what are you going to do?

Make the best of it you can and seems you did that. YAY! And cookies are a good thing. A very good thing. :)

Boh. Maybe she had a good reason, but still. That's happened to me and I've gotten SO pissy about it, lol. Especially when I buy all this stuff.

Oh well.. hopefully you guys can reschedule!

UGH! I hate when people cancel...especially at the last minute.

I recently had a friend that I tried to reconnect with and when we made plans for Friday...surprise surprise...she never answered her phone.

You don't need people like that in your life.

I could easily forgive a last minute cancellation if I was to get a nice Apologetic phone call. But a text... not so much...

Once time I made chocolate chip cookies from scratch (like 5 dozen) for my ex-fiance's daughter's school.. he "forgot" to take them, so we had to eat them before they went bad.... :)

Texting to cancel so close to the mark is downright rude. I'd think twice about inviting her to another event. Glad you guys made the best of a great evening together!

At least you know that you put forth effort towards reconnecting. If I was in your spot I'd move on.

Sounds like your cookies were delightful. I'm impressed you all could take care of them all. I tend to eat so much cookie dough that I have little room left for the actual cookies.

So many cookies and so little time to eat them all in.......what a hard job to do......lol

I do think it was rude to cancel at the last minute without a damn good excuse and I would have been rightly pissed off if it had happened to me...

I'm glad it is oreo, I mean after all it is milk's favorite cookie. So sorry your friend canceled :(

What a lame-o! But cookies aren't a bad thing to have a lot of.

Cancelling via text seems rather rude and is definitely impersonal. She should have at least called you directly. Glad you guys were able to enjoy your evening. She didn't deserve your cookies anyway!

I think that was really bad her texting you at such short notice. Her loss :)
