Poor Bowen, but I did smile at you giving him a hamburger before he started his diet. I hope you told him, so that he could really make the most of it! I am definitely going to do one of those handwritten posts quite soon! Enjoy your weekend.
What kind of dog is Bowen? Sometimes they are just big boned - ask me, I have a 120 lb Chessie, and his breed tops out at 80 lbs, but the Vet says he is fine, just a big guy.
Our dogs always get McDonald's after their vet visits. That way they don't mind going so much. They never forget :).
Poor Bowen, he will feel so so sorry for himself next week that a diet will be the least of his worries lol I'm glad he got a hamburger though. Have a great weekend :)
Hope Bowen is all better pronto and enjoyed his burger. Does he get to run around and exercise? As long as they are getting enough exercise it should balance itself out (minus the snacks!!). Have a wonderful weekend! Hugs.
I seriously lol'd when you mentioned giving Bowen a burger after he was told to go on a diet. Poor pup ;)
You should try one of those toys/containers that's full of food, but it only has one or two little openings for it to come out. Bowen would have to run around and play with it in order to get his food. They sell them, but you can also make one out of a soda bottle! You may be laughing, but I think we're making these for our fat cats in the near future ;)
@Jax- Very true. I also gave him two Slim Jims last night, but Boyfriend yelled at us. :(
@Thisisme- I can't imagine being a dog and having to go on a diet and having no clue why I'm being deprived of food.
@Skippy-He's a black lab. When we still lived around a McDonald's, Bowen got hamburgers after every bath because he hates it so much.
@OT- Thank you!
@Lyndy- Me too! I hope he doesn't hate me aftewards :/
@Barb- Thank you Barb! Yes he gets to run around a play outside everyday. It's weird because when I use to live in an apartment with no yard, he was skinnier than he is now with room to run.
@Hed- Thank you!
@Nicki- Sure is. I'm afraid he's going to hate me.
@Steph C- LOL Diets suck. I feel bad for him. That's actually not a bad idea (food container thing) because when he is inside he is lazy as hell.
@Soapbox-HAHA, indeed!
@Meg-I didn't get the insurance because most of it didn't cover the neutering and when it did it was like $60 a month. But for like $15 a month he gets covered for his yearly check ups and what not and we're looking into doing that.
@Hornet-Haha...Bowen likes to sneak food whenever he can. We cannot leave anything on the counter.
@FreeFlying- It sure is :)You know some vets actually call it castration? That sounds way too harsh.

Poor Bowen. Going on a diet, going in for nut removal. Man, it's tough to be a dog.

Well, Bowen will weigh a little bit less pretty soon! ;-)
LOL at 1. feeding the dog a hamburger and 2. "nut removal"
Did you end up getting pet insurance? Thanks for posting!! Sorry I'm getting to this so belated!!
My Apollo is a little hefty too...he tries to steal food from the other dogs when I'm not looking! Good luck Bowen!
Nut removal? Is that the technical term? Lol! I like the handwritten notes. It makes me feel like we're in class.
