I think I'm going to try to get a job at the hospital so I can make money while being there

For anyone that reads Dad's blog, you already know this, but for those that don't, my little sister is in the hopsital.

It was supposed to be a simple gallbladder surgery, which I had done in May. No big deal right? It's an outpatient surgery. She'd be sore for a few days and then hopefully (unlike me) start feeling better.

Yeah, well apparently there was a gallstone the size of a golf ball and they had trouble actually removing the gallbladder. Then a stone or maybe stones passed through her bile duct and caused an obstruction. So, she had to be transported to another hospital for another surgery.

She has a tube coming out her side with a little bag to collect blood. It's gross. And she's very yellow. They are afraid she will have a bowel leak...apparently that little bag would tell them if that should happen.

The last I heard, she is still in surgery. I am closer to the hospital she will be transported back to, so I'm waiting. I'm hoping I can get there before the snow storm they are calling for gets here.

So that's my post for the day. I'll be spending the rest of the day in the hospital fighting Dad for that one very uncomfortable chair and drinking extremely nasty coffee from the vending machine.

Oh...hey I forgot to tell you guys that I can drink coffee again! My first cup since my surgery was a couple weeks ago and oh.my.gosh, it was the best thing ever. Heaven in a cup.

That doesn't sound very nice Jumble. I pray that your little sister will be better very soon and out of hospital in time for Christmas. It must be a worrying time for all of you. (((hugs))).

Glad that you can get your caffeine fix again now though!

I am keeping your family and your sister in my thoughts and sending lots of positivity your way. That is a sin that things couldn't be simple for her surgery. I know it happens sometimes but when simple procedures go wrong it's always scary.
Your father and your sister are lucky to have you there supporting them.

I did know about your sister from Dad's blog and I hope all goes well with this other surgery. It's serious if the colon is ivolved in anyway. So my prayers are with you guys. Brew lots of good coffee and bring it with you! Please let us know as soon as you can how she is doing. She gets blog love too!

You and Dad can act like grown-ups and take turns in the uncomfortable chair. Don't make me come down there! I'll spring for the ass massages...I know a girl. And a guy, actually.

Anyway, big hugs and positive vibes to your little sister! xo

Don't forget a pillow (for butt and/or head), coins for the crap in the vending machines, and a myriad of entertainment devices. Best wishes to you and your family!

Big hugs for all of you, keep rubbing that butt and get Dad to share his iPad.

Hope your sis feels better soon, I know how much hospitals can suck a person's will to live!!

Bring lots of reading material and a cushion, cos you will have a numb butt before long :)

I am so sorry! I'm sure they'll fix her up, but what a nightmare having to wait for news in a lobby. Don't you wish you could just be in there and supervise? Like, cheer everyone on? Still, I think for sure you can contract yourself out for the day in some kind of cleaning position. Good idea to make a few bucks while you wait. I always admire your savvy, Jumble.

(Seriously, though. I'll be praying for you both.)

(And congrats on the coffee. It for sure IS heaven in a cup.)

I certainly hope she recovers both fully and quickly.
In the meantime, don't forget some Lysol and a facemask...those hospitals are full of sick people!

Thinking of your sister JM! I know that's not fun! I hope she'll have a speedy recovery once the surgery's over. Also, congrats on being able to drink coffee again, my enemy right now because of the gallbladder surgery is pizza :(

So glad to hear she's doing better. I guess sometimes being the last commenter on the train is useful. Still thinking about you guys, though!
