Birthday Giggle, Wiggle and Jiggle

Well, today I am officially 25 years old. I have many mixed emotions about it. I know ya'll are gonna say, "But 25 years old is not old," and I love you all for trying to make me feel better, but I do feel old. Well, not old really, I feel unaccomplished. Like, shouldn't I have and be more by this age? Should I be a wife and mother? Should I own my own home by now? Should I be in a better career by now? Sigh.

On the other hand, its my freakin' birthday and I'm excited. I have no idea what Boyfriend has in store for me when I get home, but I am SUPER excited. And my boss is letting me go home a couple hours early. AND MY SISTER GOT ME A PENGUIN PILLOW PET. (Have I mentioned she is pretty random? Last year I got her a gumball machine for Christmas. She loved it. One year for my birthday she got me mounds of Play-Doh)

It's going to be a good day.

Ok, moving right along. I wanted to know when you all started your Christmas shopping and these are the answers I got.
I cannot believe some of you haven't even started! I would be in panic mode. I usually start right after Thanksgiving because I'm always afraid I'm going to have to go through some extensive situation to get a certain gift and it wouldn't arrive on time for Christmas. So I start early. This year I believe I started the first week of December and I was officially done shopping last week. For those of you that shop all year long or started even earlier than December...you get 10 points that mean absolutely nothing, but Hooray for you!

Today I am recommending...

The Giggle Fest

Lyndylou is truly an inspiring person. Wanna know why? Well hop on over there and see for yourselves. I cannot help but be captivated by all that she writes.

And finally, since Cap'n Kyrie broke down the 12 Days of Christmas, she has chosen the Giggle Button Occupant today. Go click and see where it takes you!

P.S.No poll this week. I will probably too busy to even do Giggle, Wiggle and Jiggle. Three Christmas gatherings that day! Holy crap next week is Christmas!

1. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
2. Don't worry, I've been 25 for 6 months and I have not a clue what's going on in my life.
3. I LOVE pillow pets. I say I want one for my cats to sleep on, but really I just want one for me :)
4. I did all my shopping online this year, and it's great bc I don't have to mess with crazy ppl at the stores, but then my apt. building never tells me when my packages arrive. Still waiting for 2 more and I'm getting so nervous!!

Happy Birthday Sweetie!!!! I sure hope you have a very happy day and relax. 25 is not when you should be worrying about where you are in life. Save that for 30! Be a kid for now. It's so much fun! Now sing...

"I don't wanna grow up"
"I'm a Toys 'R Us kid"

Hugsssssss Birthday Girl

Happy Birthday Jumble!! You are now a quarter of a century old. LOL! Just thought I would make you feel even worse! Sorry, that's mean. Enjoy your special day, and I love that cute little penguin pillow pet!

Happy B-Day! Today is my lady friend's b-day too.

25 is not old. To put it into perspective, i'm on my third career change since I was 25 so you have plenty of time for those things to figure themselves out.

And 25 is too early to be married with kids... sorry to those who are, but it just is. Married is ok, but wait for your late 20s to have kids - you'll be much better prepared in all ways.

Happy birthday. Have a totally awesome day and remember each day is an adventure to be lived.

Happy birthday, girl! 25 is still so young, even though you don't think of it that way yet. I cried for 3 days when I turned 30! Someone could look at me and I would just burst out into tears. And *cough* forty (which I just turned recently and still have trouble saying as well as typing) was when I had my, "Where is my stamp on this world?" episode.

You have plenty of time to do all of those other things. Enjoy it! Life is way too short to dwell on stupid stuff... or any stuff.

And dammit, Barb! Now that song is stuck in my head.

@Steph C- Thank you very much! You totally need to get a pillow pet. Seriously. They are SO FLUFFY!

@Danger- Thanks a billion!

@Barb- Yeah, now that song is stuck in my head. But that's okay because I like it! Thank you!

@Thisisme- MEAN! LOL. JK Dad keeps saying that same thing but next month he will be 50 so I throw it right back at him

@Simple Dude- Yay for Dec. 16th Birthdays. Your Lady Friend must be awesome! LOL. And thanks for the pep talk...I needed that!

@Twilight-Thank you very much!

@Krissy-Someone told me today that "old" is always ten years older than you are. I kinda like that. Old to me now is 35. When I turn 35 it will be 45. I'll never be old! And Barb got that song stuck in my head, too!

Krissy said...

Yeah, that works for me! I have a sister that's 10 years older than me, and I tell her she's old ALL the time. :) Mom always told me I'd be able to get even one day when they picked on me for not being old enough to do the kinds of things they did.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

I don't want to make you feel bad by this, but I'm terrified to turn 25, and I still have 2 years... all I'm saying is that it's legit to feel old. The only people that will yell at you are older people and they just wish they were younger. But when you're 25 you're a quarter century and yah, it's scary.

I hope you have a fantabulous birthday and that the Boy spoils the bejesus out of you!!! You deserve it!!!

Happy Birthday JM! 25 is most definitely not old! If you think back, hasn't it been the longest 25 years? That means the next 70+ will be even longer! (assuming you live to be 95!)
You should do what I do. I have a friend whose birthday is the day before mine, so I always give her crap about how she's older than me. It makes me feel better.

P.S. Totally jealous of the penguin pillow pal!

Happy Birthday to you! How lucky you get to come home a little early and I hope it turns out to be a fantastic day because of it. I'm curious to hear about all your prezzies...

Just after my 25th birthday (16 days!) I got married so didn't have the chance to think about all that stuff, I also started a new job a month and 3 days later which turned out to be hell... so its now that I'm turning 30 do I have the thoughts that you have... in that what exactly have I done with my life

Happy, happy birthday, JM! Life is full of sometimes feeling old and sometimes feeling young. All of us wonder if we should have accomplished more or should be doing something different. This holds true for just about any age. Wherever you are in life, that's exactly where you should be. :-)

25 to 30 were some of the best years of my life! Enjoy them! Happy Birthday and YAY for pillow pets! They kick ass! I can't justify buying myself one...but if I got one as a gift I'd be all over it.

Happy birthday, cutie pie! I'm going to tell you the same thing I tell my kids when they're walking forward but looking back over their shoulders, "Don't worry about where you've been, concentrate on where you're going!" Celebrate your birth today and then tomorrow celebrate your life! xoxo

It's your happy birthday, and I hope that your wishes come truueee.
It's your happy birthday, it's kind of like throwing a shoooe...
At some old dog, out in the street
who just happens to be in your way
on this wonderful, marvelous, happy birthdaaaaay!

*end singing*

Ok, so it's not going to get me famous. I wrote it when I was like 8! I'm no Mozart.

Happy Birthday, Jumble. You don't need to throw a shoe at a dog in your way. It probably won't change the happiness of your birthday for the better.

I am one of those ones who shops all year round. Except now that I have a child, that stopped, because there are other things more important (like keeping her clothed...she grows like a weed). However I do traditionally start in September now. But this will now have to stop. I think I'm done, but then find one more thing...and one more thing....etc.

I hope you had an amazing bday (I'm late on readin my blogs).

Happy Birthday late! Sorry I missed it, yesterday was crazy for me. It was my baby girl Anna's birthday as well :) and I was also deep in the planning and decorating for my work's annual Christmas dinner, which was last night. Fun.

Hope you had an awesome day! Hugs!

Happy belated Birthday. I'll be 25 in a month and I'm so scared of it already, so I know what you feel:)

Happy birthday! And don't feel bad about what you should have done by now. I'm pretty sure people always feel like that. I wonder almost on a daily basis if I should have more done by now, and have since I was 20. You're doing great! And you and your blogs make me happy... so add that to your list of accomplishments!

Happy belated birthday! If it makes you feel any better, I didn't buy a house til I was 34 and 1/2, and I still am not a parent! I have a puppy pillow like your penguin--he rules!

Happy Belated Birthday, darlin! I'm still unburying my Google Reader and look at that, I'm late to the JM birthday party. Meh. Take it from someone who was married for less than thirty days-- don't you worry about being a babymama just yet! Anyway, I hope your birthday was so much better than the tube sock extravaganza in DC (just that particular part, the rest sounded good) and I can't wait to hear all about it. I'm sure you probably already have, and it's buried in my Google Reader. Well. Have some cake for me anyway. Is it ice cream cake? Have two slices.
