Friday Ranting- MERRY CHRISTMAS

It’s starting already.

December just reached us on Wednesday and people are already starting to PISS.ME.OFF.

You know what I’m talking about. Those who are offended by the words MERRY CHRISTMAS.

In case anyone forgot, which is easy to do these days, Christmas is a holiday to commemorate the birth of Jesus. We do not celebrate it to piss anyone off. We do not wish you a Merry Christmas to offend anyone. Believe it or not, when we wish you a Merry Christmas, we are trying to be NICE!!!!

I am a Christian. I will say Merry Christmas all I freakin’ want to. If you do not like it...don’t freakin’ come out of your home during the whole month of December.

I REALIZE that Christmas is NOT the only holiday celebrated in December, but I do NOT celebrate any other holidays so I am NOT going to go around saying Happy Holidays just to please some strangers.

If you celebrate Hanukah, then by all means, wish me a Happy Hanukah. I will smile at you and thank you. What is the point of getting offended??!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!

If you do not like Christ or believe in Christ or what ever...fine. I do not care. I do not harass you about it. I do not try to change the world so that no one can ever say the word ATHEIST or be an atheist. It’s your business. So leave Christmas alone; that’s my business.

Still not ready to let it go? Then wear a big red sticker on your head all year so those of us that go around and so “rudely” wish you a Merry Christmas can all together avoid you. It will be an international symbol. The sticker, without words, will say, “I have nothing better to do so I need something to bitch about. If you wish me a Merry Christmas, I will find you and kill you.”

MERRY CHRISTMAS

P.S. Why are the Christmas colors red and green?

P.P.S. Stop fucking with the Christmas cards that now all say Happy Holidays or Seasons Greetings. I want to send cards that say Merry Christmas damn it.

UPDATE: Someone unfollowed me after this. Told ya Merry Christmas was offensive.

I applaud you! I am happy to hear Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Blessed Yule, Happy Kwanzaa, Pleasant Boxing Day, or what the hell ever. I'm tired of the new "race", the Offended-Americans. It's not that hard to smile, or even just to say "no thanks, I don't celebrate." Instead, these jackwagons are trying to piss on everyone else's Christmas parade. Well, I hope they get over it before I have to drown them in a bowl of eggnog.

HAHAH! I think if I had to go out, being drown in a bowl of eggnog would be the way to go. But thank you! I completely agree. Why must people always try to stir up trouble?

Let it out, lady. I'm with you on this.. everyone just has to deal with it. My Christmas cards say Merry Christmas, NOT happy holidays, and I don't give a shiznit. Thanks for this ;)

AGREED! I'd be thrilled if someone wished me a Happy anything. Hello. I like to be happy. So, wish away. And I, in return, will wish you a Merry Christmas. Or a Happy Birthday. Whatever suits my fancy.

p.s. Loved your comment. I'm always thrilled to be grouped with you in the "We're awesome" category.

You know, in 49 years, I've not yet met one person offended by being wished a "merry Christmas," but I've run into plenty who get their panties in a twist over "happy holidays."

The Christmas colors are red and green because they are color wheel opposites and completely clash. This is a present to everyone with horrible taste in clothing who want to wear red and green together, even though it's usually quite an ugly combination. Because people wearing bright reds and greens around the holidays aren't tacky, they're 'getting in the spirit of things'!

OMG amazing. More and more each day do I realize how similar we are. This is seriously my BIGGEST pet peeve!!! Like just shut up and say thank-you!!!
Stewart and I are so in the same boat as this. It's getting SOOOOO hard to find CHRISTMAS cards. Our first Christmas he found me this AMAZING card, and it said happy holidays... so he scratched it out and wrote Merry Christmas.

Seriously, here in North America we celebrate Christmas, if you don't like it go back to your own country. Too much?

here's to you JM i totally agree i hate when i say Merry Christmas to people they give a strange look and say happy holidays. It is Christmas has been for many years so why are we changing it now.

I'm with you 150% on this. Makes me so angry when I say "Merry Christmas" to someone and they give me a hateful look. I just want to punch them in the face.

I was taught that green symbolized hope and red symbolized the blood that Jesus shed. :)

Thank you all!! I know this is a bit of touchy subject and I was afraid more people would get offended by it, but only one person quit following me. I LOVE YOU GUYS. I can't hold back my own opinion on the chance that someone might get offended by it. I meant no harm.

P.S. Amy- Not too much :)
Jess- Thanks! Learn something new everyday.

I'm with you. Merry Christmas. My mother (you know the mother who dropped me off at the emergency room while I was in labor) started with Blessed Christmas a few years ago and I climbed all over her ass about it because that's not how she raised us kids. Merry Christmas, Merry Christmas, Merry Christmas.

Preach it, sister! I totally agree.

Oh, I am SO unfollowing you now.

Okay, maybe next Christmas.

Scared the shit out of you, didn't I? I don't give a hell if you say merry christmas, happy holidays or anything else. It all seems like you're wishing me well, so I'll take it.

Screw the person who unfollowed you! FREE SPEECH!

I've worked in the service industry my entire life, and we're told to say "Happy Holidays". Fine with me, although I wish I could get away with saying "Merry ChrisKwanzaaKah"...

Hey silly person who unfollowed the adorable JM- GROW UP. Everybody is entitled to thier own opinion. You dont like it, too bad. Happy Christmas to you and yours JM. And I will say it again as it gets closer. This world is getting too precious with people trying desperately to avoid offending people. Why can't we all share and acknowledge everybodies celebrations?

Tress said...

Hahaha I so love you guys!!!

Someone seriously unfollowed you just for voicing your opinion? WRONG-O, BLOGOSPHERE! WRONG-O!

Merry Christmas! That's what I've always said and I will continue to do so.

Excellent post Jumble, Just couldn't agree with you more. It's as if they're trying to pretend that Christmas doesn't exist any more.
