I Don't Wanna Grow Up

My 25th birthday is approaching in a couple of months.  It’s getting here sooner than I had hoped/imagined.  Sure, my car insurance will go down, but I feel like I have to finally start acting like an adult.  But then I think, to Hell with it. You are never too old for some things, including but not limited to....
1. Getting up early on a Saturday morning to watch cartoons and eat Fruit Loops.
2. Spending an entire Sunday playing video games instead of cleaning and doing laundry.
3. Asking for toys for Christmas/Birthdays. I totally want this...
4. Baking cookies but eating most of the cookie dough before it ever makes it onto the cookie sheet.
LMAO
5. Sitting at work and reading my favorite blogs instead of actually working.
6. Spending my last $10.00 on Doritos, Gushers, and chocolate.
7. Playing hide and seek in the dark at parties. (Have done this very intoxicated...it makes it so much more fun.)
8. Seriously thinking that my Netflix and WoW accounts are the most important bills to pay.
10. Considering microwavable meals and ‘meals in a box’ as quality dinners and that Boyfriend should be happy that I’m such an excellent cook.
11. Having birthday parties complete with balloons and streamers every year.

12. Buying every freakin’ Disney movie that is released from the vault. (Stupid vault)

What will you never be too old for?

UPDATE: Annah has declared it National Leave-A-Comment Day. You must obey Annah.

I'm with you on all of these, especially the stupid Disney vault. I blogged about that last year...LOL. I think it was called "Disney's Holding My Movies Hostage."

Loved the Cookie Monster pic. Awesome.

LMAO That's awesome, Jess. I hate that whole stupid concept!! I am now the proud owner of Beauty and the Beast but damn I waited forever.

Jumble Mash...you can relax and take a deep breath. I'm going to be 50 in a few weeks and Bruce is going to 54 shortly thereafter. We get up in the mornings and still watch Top Cat, the Flintstones, Popeye and Bugs Bunny just to name a few. We eat Corn-Pops, Frosted Flakes and Honey Smacks. I'll spare you the details of what we play in the dark but it still is so much fun. We are big kids who every once in awhile get a Senior Citizen discount and laugh. We look pretty darn good for our ages and that comes from within. You're only as old as you want to be. Great post!!

@Barb- I totally love you right now. You just made my day :) It's so good to know that being an adult is optional.

@CBG- Love me some teddy bears. Nothing makes me feel better when I'm sick like snugglin' with a teddy bear.

@Gewuerzgurke- Can I call you G? Hehe. I'm guessing you are a good cook? If my assumptions are correct than you can assume that I'm completely jealous. :)

Yah age is but a number. I agree.

I rather eat cookie dough then eat the actual cookies. I too waste too much time reading blogs rather than working. I jsut had a slumber party this past weekend.

Im also not too old to ride on little kid rides at Disneyland (those are my favorite).

Ohhh I know exactly what you are going through, the realization that I still think Oreos are a perfectly adequate breakfast and Disney may be one of the most wonderful places on earth. Heres to never really growing up, just reaching the age of not having to justify your activities to anyone.

Of course you can :D I knew I should have chosen a different name for communicating with non german speaking people ;)
I'm working on becoming a good cook I guess, but I'm doing fairly well.

I LOVE birthdays! I say never grow up--where's the fun in acting old anyway? I watch the Muppets, Simpsons and Futurama religiously, and I make sock animals! And I still sleep with the teddy bear I was given at the hospital when I was born. Hubs doesn't even mind! My best friends made a hamburger cake for the hubs' birthday a few weeks ago. It was amazing!

I will never be too old for converse. It may seem odd, but, really, when you think about it, how many older people do you see wearing converse?
I refuse to conform. Who cares if they're bad for your feet? :D
(really, normal clothes in general. I don't particularly like those old-people clothes and something tells me that 60 year old me will still feel the same)

@Aimee- Disney rides!!! I should have totally put that on the list!! Haha.

@IY- Amen to that. And to Oreos. Espeically in milkshake form.

@AMC- Your hubs kicks butt for letting you snuggle with the teddy bear. Boyfriend would so make fun of me.

@Keyda- Very good point! I didn't even think about the old people clothes. hehe

one of my many favorite quotes is “Growing Old is Mandatory - Growing Up Is Optional”

Cartoons are a mandatory part of my Saturday morning.

But so is coffee...and that's pretty grown-up, right? Allllll about balance.
