Moving is the pits

Alright...once again PLEASE forgive me for my lack of substance for these next couple of weeks. Moving is taking over my existence. I have this huge list of things I need to buy and it keeps on growing but my wallet is not getting any fatter. This starting all over stuff is hard to do!!!

Boyfriend made fun of me because I wrote pickles on the list. He doesn't think pickles are a necessity. Psht. He's so wrong.

I told Boyfriend I was going to make him work the street and then actually had a dream that I was his pimp (pimpette?) and it was horrifying. I decided against the whole idea.

I've been selling a lot of crap on Ebay and thinking of hanging onto some stuff for a possibly giveaway. Do any of you guys collect anything?? I swear I have like 10 collections of COMPLETELY different and random things. I think I have the makings of a hoarder.

And the packing. The packing is freaking killing me. I actually look forward to going to work just to get a break from packing boxes. Boyfriend has so many damn video games and movies that I could seriously start a video rental store. I'm pretty sure we are about finished with that though. The next step is to actually move all the crap to our new place. And then unpack.

I have moved 17 times in my 24 years of existence. I absolutely cannot wait for the day that I can say "I am never moving again!!!!" You would think I would be a professional at this by now. But no, I still lack motivation and I am still waiting for some kind of magic fairy god mother to help me do it without lifting a finger.

But it's going to be worth it. No more crazy roommates. Just Boyfriend, the dog, and me. It's going to be great. (I keep having to repeat these things so that I do not go insane)

Whose idea was this anyways?

P.S. Ya'll have to go here and read this story. Trust me, it's worth it.

Try rubbermaid tubs! I've moved a lot too over the years. The best part about tubs is that you can get the color co-ordinated that way each room is a certain color. You can label them easily which is great when you're trying to find your shower curtain or that roll of toilet paper. Also totally great for the environment cause you can reuse them!

Hope it helps

Moving sucks the big one. I cannot believe you've moved that many times!! Until I went to university... I'd move a whopping ZERO times in my life... yup my parents still live in the house I was brought home from the hospital to. Since then I've moved at least 5 times, and it's craziness. Moving in with the Boyfriend is AMAZING... except for the first month or two... that one really sucks... getting used to living together is nothing what I thought it was going to be (a piece of cake) and everything I was afraid of (crazy town fighting). My best friend moved in with her boyfriend at the same time as me (we were roomies before) and she admitted how hard it was about a month in and I said "Oh believe me I know!" and she said, "OMG I thought I was the only one!!" So if I'm reading this right, and this is your first time living with the Boyfriend... just be prepared for it to suck a lot for the first month or two, but once you get into a nice routine and things smooth over - it's amazing...truly!! I'm just glad someone warned me!

P.S. Thanks for the award - I really appreciate it :)

P.P.S. I love that pickles are on the list. I go through a jar a week, they are ALWAYS on the list.

@CBG- That is an excellent idea!! Thanks a billion!!

@Amy- You are correct. This is the first time we will be living together. Yikes!! Everyone keeps telling me, "This will make or break you." So I'm really glad you told me that the first couple of months are tough or I would have thought for sure that we were going to end up hating each other.

P.S You are welcome.

P.P.S. I'm so glad YOU understand the need for pickles. Some people just don't get me.

I'm moving too...well, technically I'm in the "unpacking" phase of moving...which is a lot easier because while you HAVE to pack everything, if a couple things stay in boxes, it's not a big deal, right? Right??

Oh, and pickles? Complete necessity.

I've moved 15 times in 26 years, and I, too, HATE moving. I like the idea of being in a new place with new people, but cannot stand the packing and sorting and all of that stuff.

Good luck!

Yeah, you're totally right. Pickles are a NECESSITY! I definitely hate moving, too. My poor hubby has moved like 7 times in the past couple years. We've been at our current residence for over a year and he is so happy! My next move better be to a bigger HOUSE!

I've moved so many times I quit counting. However, the hubs and I bought a house last November and I truly think that was the last move ever (at least I hope so)! Moving does suck, I still have a bunch of boxes in the basement, and at least once a week I think of something I haven't seen since the move. But at least you'll be much happier after the move! And I too have too many movies, books, Simpsons toys, etc...

BTW thank you so much for the blog award. I feel so honoured and grateful! Thank you thank you thank you!

I really hope I don't have to move anytime soon - the whole idea of wrapping all my breakables in tissue paper makes me want to cry...

After 20 years my house goes on the market tommorow. Have been in a frenzy of "de-cluttering" and cleaning since the decision was made. I feel your pain and I have lost count of how many lists I have made.
And if Pickles keep you sane. Buy the bulk jar :)

Bruce and I just moved for the second time in 2 1/2 years. Before that I was in my house for 13 years. One way to get rid of a lot of crap is to move. Other than that I think it stinks. It was exciting for us to move to South Carolina because we hated winters up north. But I'm done I think. Who knows. Our priority isn't pickles but if thats what you need then you pack it. Ours is coffee. Where's the coffee? Gotta know what bin my coffee is in. lol Good luck with the move.

Wow, I can't believe how many people are also moving right now. I know I've read a couple blogs this week about moving and a few of you are going through the process as well. At least we can all be miserable together. And I made BF read the comments and told him he cannot make fun of me for the pickles anymore and he said, "I had no idea there were so many of you out there in the world." HEHE <3 You guys!!
